Closer than I think 2.0: Manifestation of thoughts

Nothing in life happens by coincidence.

Warning: I’m going to sound very philosophical from here on.

Warning 2: this post is very very long, and filled with words. ‘Duh!’ You say.
I mean, ONLY words.

When you look back at your life, every single event contributes to you being who you are today. Sometimes things just feel so absurdly connected that you feel compelled to label it as miracle.  It’s like these events you go through and people you meet are intricately planned to get you in the exact position you’re in now. Deepak Chopra calls it syncrodestiny, and states that understanding the
mechanics of it allows spontaneous fulfillment of any desires or wants.

The truth is, there is a fundamental force in the universe that we have very little understanding of which presents us with all the resources (either people or events) to help us move towards a direction we choose. Hence the importance of goal setting and visualization, because without it, we’d be swept by the current of fulfilling other people’s wants and needs and be a pawn in achieving other’s dreams and goals instead. As clearly mentioned in the book ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’: If you don’t plan to make yourself rich, you’re in someone else’s plan to make them rich. The same law applies in all other areas of our lives.

Even the great human potential development guru, Anthony Robbins noted that there is a force which we’re still not capable of understanding when you set a goal. Just by focusing our attention on something attracts resources to manifest that goal into the physical realm. All great thinkers, psychologists, human development experts, hypnotherapists or even spiritual thinkers have point to the unconscious part of the mind as bridge or communication portal to this powerful force of the universe. Some have called it the universal mind that is omnipotent. You can call it God, the higher consciousness (which I prefer cause I’m currently an atheist, until further notice) or whatever.

Methods like affirmation, goal setting, hypnosis, mind control (read the Silva Mind Control Method. interesting), and meditation are strictly means to communicate with the unconscious (or subconscious) part of the mind. The fact that our unconscious mind is much more powerful than our conscious mind is no secret, and may be linked to the fact that it is able to access (how deep or in what way, we do not know) and dip into the higher consciousness/universal mind. Think about it, even the Bible states that God is in everyone of us (for believers) and everyone is God, or is bits or pieces of God. We’re constantly in communication with and connects with a universal consciousness (God?) that makes me you and you me. Dizzy yet?

The greatest and most lasting change in our habits and behavior needs the approval and acceptance of the unconscious mind, and whatever is accepted in the subconscious mind manifest itself in the real world. The recent book that’s on the bestseller lists around the world: ‘The Secret’ speaks the same story. In the book and documentary, this phenomenon is known as ‘The Law of Attraction’, and the book reveals that this phenomenon has been witnessed even hundreds of years ago. Flip through any self help book you can find on the shelf of a bookstore and you will not find one author who do not believe in the ‘Law of Attraction’.

I’m sure that when you look at your life retrospectively, you’ll also be able to weed out evidence of the law of attraction that had taken place. When you set your mind on something, miracles appears on a daily basis. we just don’t notice it because we’re not tuned in. If you focus on it, you’ll start to notice how amazing it is. I had the same experience.

Just a few months ago, I mentioned to a friend about what I dream of doing for a living: to be able to contribute and influence to the life of others, and one way I’ve thought of doing that is to become a public speaker. And in the span of the next few months, I’ve been miraculously given the chance to give a motivational talk to the whole company with a few other colleagues. The thing is I’ve been rehearsing for something like this in my mind for a very very long time, without knowing I’d have a chance like this so fast. I’d see it in my mind like a movie where I’m standing in front of a big crowd, speaking to them, sharing what I know (however little I know at this moment).

By the end of my little talk, everyone in my company told me I’ve got a natural talent as a motivational speaker. All the managers come to me and tell me I’m talented in this area. One even mentioned that I should develop my career in this area if I don’t work for this company in the future, and I’m still thinking whether she’s trying to hint something :(  The big boss were so impressed he wanted a special slot for me on the next meeting to speak on another topic. Natural talent? Who the hell gave me genes of a motivational speaker?

Then there is the incident in NAC which I talked about  in my last post. Coincidences or syncrodestiny? You decide.
